Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing to host new community Showcase Event in June

Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing is delighted to announce its inaugural ‘Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing Showcase Event’ sponsored by Better Body Group, which will be held in the grounds of Knole academy on Sunday 26th June, from 12pm to 4pm.

A first of its kind in Sevenoaks, the Showcase Event will provide an exciting opportunity for members of the public to meet and greet with their local sports, fitness and wellbeing clubs, groups and businesses from across the Sevenoaks District in a fun-filled family event.

With a summer fair feel the showcase event will be packed full of demonstrations and skills from a variety of different sport and wellbeing clubs and groups, for both adults and children to watch and take part in. The event will be free to attend for the public, along with plenty of free parking and will also host a number of exciting ice cream, drink and street food vendors on the day.

The highlight of the afternoon will feature an exhibition match of women’s football between Sevenoaks Town and Castle Colts on Knole Academy’s 3G pitch.

Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing editor Steve Rowley said: “The Showcase Event is an opportunity for the whole community to come together and celebrate our local sports clubs and groups. It will provide these wonderful organisations with an entirely unique platform to showcase themselves to the local community. Clubs may be looking to raise their profile, perhaps they are looking to increase player or volunteer numbers or to raise awareness of a club initiative, fundamentally though, the event is about our clubs taking the opportunity to connect and engage with their local community and hopefully to inspire more people to take up a new sport or wellbeing club, or maybe even rekindle a love for an old one! Sport is unifying and has the ability to break down barriers within societies and we are enormously proud to be hosting such an event in our community of Sevenoaks”.

Events co-ordinator Lorraine Rowley said “We are so excited to be holding our first ever Showcase Event at Knole Academy this June. The event will provide an exciting opportunity for our wonderful clubs in the Sevenoaks District to showcase themselves to their local community. The ultimate aim of the event is to bring the community together through sport and wellbeing and to encourage participation and involvement in sport within the Sevenoaks District. I am particularly excited the event will be hosting an exhibition match of women’s football, as a female footballer myself I really hope that we can inspire more women and girls to take up the sport!”

Invitations have been going out to local clubs and businesses via email, however if you haven’t received an invitation yet and you would like to hold a showcase stand at the event, please email us at events@sevenoakssports.co.uk.

NB. Spaces are limited and are on a first come first served basis and in the interests of holding a variety of showcase stands, Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing do reserve the right to turn down applications without reason.
