Sevenoaks Samarathon is paw-sitively paw-some as charity raise £5k!

July was the month that the Sevenoaks Samaritans walked, hopped, skipped, and jumped over a distance of 26.2 miles to raise vital funds to help run the self-funded service and to raise awareness of what the charity does.

Samaritans’ pooches helped the Sevenoaks based charity to keep listening through 2023 by walking (or running, or ambling) the marathon distance. Take a look at the photo on the right and you’ll see that their dogs really did look the part too!

Mooching with a Pooch
Samaritans’ dogs also had a mega-mooch planned on Saturday 8th July when, to cover the distance, 26.2 dogs walked one mile each (smallest dog was the 0.2 miles). There was a lot of laughter, fun and a tiny bit of chaos on the day itself!

The Sevenoaks Samaritans know that pets help with mental wellbeing, so by walking their dogs and asking people to sponsor their four-legged friends, they were not only helping to raise much needed funds, but they were promoting good mental health too.

If you would like to help the Sevenoaks Samaritans team raise even more funds then head over to their fundraising page at samarathon2023.enthuse.com/samaritanssevenoaks.

Because every cause needs claws, after all, doesn’t it. Thank you!
