Young hockey stars are off to England training camps

An incredible thirteen [13] junior hockey players from HC Knole Park are heading off to England U16 & U18 age group training camps this week. The equal most from any club in England!

The U18 Girls are heading north to Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, whereas the U16 Boys & Girls are staying slightly closer to home as they head to Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in Berkshire.

Following assessment camps in September the young stars from Knole Park have made it through to the second phase of the England process. Each group will enjoy a three-day camp involving various on and off the pitch training sessions with their peers from around the country. It is likely that this camp will be their final opportunity to impress the England coaches as the final England squads for the season will be confirmed in November.

U16 Boys: Isaac Dale, Moritz Hippe

U16 Girls: Bella Muñoz, Boadicea Cannon, Biba Mills, Evie Smith, Lilly Holmes, Sophie Bernhardsen, Summer Knight-Thompson.

U18 Girls: Annabel Cheveley, Charlotte Watkins, Josefina Hippe, Lottie Bingham.

Director of Coaching, Duncan Parnis, said: “We are tremendously proud of all our juniors and their individual journeys. Our England juniors have done exceptionally well to get through to this stage in the process and we wish them all the best on their camps.

“The quality of hockey and how hard they work at training, and in matches, on a weekly basis is testament to their ambition. Their commitment and desire to improve are key attributes that add to their technical and tactical skills. We are also delighted to now have two boys starting their England journeys.

“Both boys have worked exceptionally hard and now follow in the girl’s footsteps as they get to enjoy training and competing at the highest level. Whatever the outcomes after these camps we know that they will have all given their best and for that they should be exceptionally proud.”
