The Junior Cross Country team of Walthamstow Hall Senior School in Sevenoaks qualified for the National Finals of the ESAA 2018 Cross Country Cup. The event took place at Woodbridge School, Suffolk at the end of November.
The team had previously run superbly to come third in the Regional Finals of the event at the start of November where 14 schools had taken part.
Walthamstow Hall’s Director of Sport, Rachael Leggett, had praised the girls after the Regional Finals, saying, “To qualify for the National Finals is an outstanding achievement. It was a magnificent team effort, with each competitor showing impressive resilience and talent”.
The result puts the team in ninth place nationally – whilst making Walthamstow Hall the highest placed school in Kent. The Walthamstow Hall team had the following individual placings in the final event:
• Lily Slack: 3rd
• Sophie Slack: 23rd
• Amber Cockburn: 58th
• Emilia Constantine: 81st
• Darcy Rook: 139th
• Phoebe Sargent: 145th
