Tunbridge Wells Hockey Club Men’s 1st team head to Horsham this Saturday and need just one point to clinch the South East Hockey Men’s Premier Division title, and with an 11.30am push back, the team will be looking to get the job done before lunchtime.
Tunbridge Wells scored six against Sittingbourne without reply last Saturday at Tonbridge School and it appeared that this week’s opponents, Horsham, were in the mood to stop Woking’s charge as they held them to a draw away from home.
With just three games remaining, Sevenoaks 2nd who are currently in second place, cannot catch their local rivals and Woking can now only draw level on points, although Tunbridge Wells have a superior goal difference.
Should they get that point at Horsham then the team will have won the Premier title and will be promoted to the National League (England Hockey’s Men’s Conference East), where they will face the likes of Guildford, and the 2nd teams of Hampstead & Westminster, Surbiton, and Wimbledon.
Good luck to all the players and congratulations on a fantastic season!
