Tunbridge Wells Foresters gave a complete performance as they lifted The DFDS Kent FA Women’s Plate in April.
The match, played at The Gallagher Stadium, the home of Maidstone United, drew in a significant crowd of supporters as women’s football really starts to take off in West Kent.
SECWFL Premier Division side, Tunbridge Wells Foresters, took to the 3G to play Petts Wood who sit a division below them in the Kent 1 West. And it only took Tunbridge Wells 10 minutes to get on the scoresheet before adding another just a minute later. Orla Leech, Annabel Stokes and Lauryn Underhill all scored two goals apiece to secure the Plate win for Foresters, running out 6-1 winners.
A great win to finish off a marvellous season for the team, who have just been pipped to the league title by XL.
Over in the men’s camp, Tunbridge Wells Foresters will take on Ebbsfleet Town on Saturday 11th May at Maidstone Road Sports Ground in Chatham in the DFDS Kent Junior Cup B Final. A comprehensive 2-0 win against Woodnesborough Reserves in the semi-final opened the door for their first final appearance.
Good luck to the team and their coaching staff in the final, and we’re pretty sure they would appreciate as much support as they can get!
