Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks lock horns in South East Hockey League

Women’s hockey in West Kent is currently thriving and whilst HC Knole Park are cleaning up in their respective divisions, more on that in a minute, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells are enjoying an almighty tussle in the South East Hockey Women’s Division 1 East Division.

Whilst neither team are looking likely to top the table, nor get relegated this season, the two sides gave everything in their recent encounter in February and it was definitely one for the neutral supporter to enjoy. A seven goal thriller at Holly Bush Lane which eventually went the way of the visiting Tunbridge Wells side 3-4.

And we don’t have to wait too long for the reverse fixture as Tunbridge Wells will host Sevenoaks on Saturday 23 March at 1.00pm. We can’t wait!

HC Knole Park 2s are promoted
HC Knole Park celebrated in February as their women’s second team were gifted promotion with more than a handful of games still to go.

There is no doubt that the team will lift the South East Hockey Women’s Division 4 championship soon, maybe they already have if you’re reading this in March. They have scored a whopping 130 goals in 16 games this season, all 16 which they have won of course, and have only allowed one goal in at the back.

Those statistics speak volumes for the young ladies taking to the field of play and we wish them all the very best as they finish their season.

• The club is also through to the last eight of the England Hockey Womens Tier 2 and 4 Knockout Championships. The club just keep going from strength to strength.
