Swimming club celebrate seven Oaks at British Championships in Sheffield

Sevenoaks Swimming Club were delighted to have seven of their swimmers competing at The British Swimming Championships this year which was again hosted at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre between April 5th and 9th.

Eva Okaro, Aaliyah Richards, Imogen Myles, Izzy Okaro, Immy Stoddart, Albert Branch and Matt Burrows represented Sevenoaks SC at the competition where athletes across all age ranges were targeting fast swims, personal bests and strong arena performance against the country’s best.

The British Swimming Championships will assist in qualification for a number of junior representative teams across a busy year in 2023 that includes another LEN European Junior Championships.

Huge congratulations to all of the swimmers who all had strong swims with season bests, personal bests and the amazing experience of swimming alongside Olympic champions.
A special mention must go to Eva Okaro who achieved four junior gold medals, three European Junior consideration times and an open bronze.

The whole club were supporting the British Champs team watching the live action over the four days.

Lisa Pople, Sevenoaks SC’s club secretary said: “We are so very proud of all seven swimmers and all they achieved throughout the competition. Special thanks to all of our coaches and especially head coach Matt Paget”.
