Thirteen year old swimmer Gabriela Trigueirinho used her swimming talent to raise money for charity, Alice’s Arc. On Saturday 18 September she swam half a mile in the Serpentine, London finishing 1st in her age group, 4th out of all women entries and an incredible 7th overall (out of 208 swimmers).

To date Gabriela has raised over £600 for charity, Alice’s Arc. This is a children’s cancer charity dedicated to funding research into finding a cure for less harsh treatments for Rhabdomyosarcoma. Gabriela chose this charity as she attends Walthamstow Hall School where Alice was also a pupil.
Gabriela who had a break from swimming in 2020 due to a period of illness says, “Be grateful for today and never take anything for granted. Life is a blessing. Always smile and help someone when you can.”
Sevenoaks Swimming Club is quite rightly very proud of Gabriela for undertaking such a personal challenge only a year after her own recovery from illness.
The Club Secretary, Liz Wallace said: “What a fantastic achievement. We are all very proud of Gabriela’s drive to raise funding and awareness to help others.”
