Success at National swimming Championships in Sheffield

The 2017 British Summer Championships took place across six days at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield from the 25th to 30th of July.

The country’s top 24 swimmers in each age group and event were invited to compete with a number of Sevenoaks Swimming Club members taking part.

Highlights of the week saw Ben Ward, swimming in the 13/14 year group, come 4th in the 200m breaststroke, 6th in the 200m individual medley, 6th in the 100m breaststroke and 9th in the 50m breastroke finals. Madeleine Glen also competing in the same year group came 8th in the 50m and 100m breaststroke with Zoe Naylor-Perrott finishing 10th in the 50m freestyle final.

Sebastian Stewart swimming in the 17/18 year group managed a deserved 8th place in the 100m breaststroke final.

Swim England’s National Summer Meet takes place at the start of August (2nd to 6th) at Ponds Forge in Sheffield and pits the next 20 ranked swimmers at Swim England affiliated clubs against each other.
