Snodland Town win first ever Emirates FA Cup match!

The Emirates FA Cup got underway in August and West Kent was represented with five teams taking part in the Extra Preliminary round.

Top of the Pops were Snodland Town who beat Broadfields United 4-0 on the road in their first ever FA Cup match. Their reward was a home tie against Chertsey Town, and although the club relished in their first home FA Cup fixture, there were not able to progress any further having lost 1-3.

Rusthall found it tough on the road as they went down 5-0 away at Lancing and Tunbridge Wells gave away two goals in the last few minutes to lose their tie at Culverden 2-3 to Uxbridge, both in the Extra Preliminary round.

Corinthian meanwhile were unlucky not to get anything from their home tie against Bedfont Sports, finally losing a pulsating match 3-4.

Sevenoaks Town, the top team from West Kent taking part at this stage, made light work of their trip to Horley in the same round where they faced Lingfield, coming away with a 3-1 win and into the next round where they played Colliers Wood at home. Another fantastic display on the pitch and a 4-1 win secured their place in the First Qualifying Round which will be played at home to Whitehawk from the Isthmian Premier Division on Saturday 2nd September.

Away from the cup, Corinthian have started their Southern Counties East Football League Premier division campaign with a 100% record, winning their first three games of the season against Kennington, Faversham Town and VCD Athletic.
