Sevenoaks Town suffer third league loss

Sammy Johnson’s first goal for the club failed to avoid Sevenoaks Town suffering a third successive Pitching In Isthmian League South East defeat on Tuesday night.

Substitute Johnson’s close-range finish was immediately followed by Karl Dent’s long-range strike  a minute later.

Oaks were convinced another VCD player was yards offside, but no flag came as Dent scored from close to the halfway line into an empty net.

Johnson went close to grabbing a point late on, but foiled by home keeper George Kamurasi who had earlier kept out another effort from fellow-sub Omari Hibbert.

Ryan Gondoh and Daniel Hector had two first half chances  – Karn Miller-Neave firing into the side netting immediately after the break.

VCD were in front soon afterwards with their first shot on target in the match.

Tola Jonah who moved clubs this week, sent in a long throw, the clearance falling to another ex-Oaks defender Kanye Makhosini who scored from the edge of the box.

Dami Olorunnisomo’s cross was headed over by Freddie Parker, and another was lost by  by Kamurasi, but the follow-up was cleared off the line.

Tyler McCarthy produced a fine double save to deny Makhosini at the start of a very open final 20 minutes.

Sevenoaks Town: Tyler McCarthy, Dami Olorunnisomo, Karn Miller-Neave (Omari Hibbert 72mins), Emmanuel Mensah, Matthew Weaire, Corey Holder, Kyle De Silva (Yahaya Bamba 61 mins), Bentley Graham, Freddie Parker, Daniel Hector (Sammy Johnson 72 mins).
