Sevenoaks Town bounce into next round of Emirates FA Cup

Sevenoaks Town Football Club strode through their latest FA Cup fixture beating Colliers Wood United 3-0 at Greatness Park on Saturday afternoon.

All the goals came in the second half after the opposing goalkeeper made a number of fine saves to keep Colliers Wood in the game.

Emmanuel Mensah opened the scoring on 49 minutes after his shoot was deflected into the back of the net. West Kent Sport & Wellbeing Man of the Match Kieran Cadogan then extended Town’s lead in the 80th minute before Palace Francis secured the tie in the 84th minute.

Speaking after the match, manager Harry Hudson was pleased with his teams performance saying: “I felt that we were in charge of the game for the full 90 minutes. How we didn’t score in the 1st half is a little bit beyond me but credit to Colliers Wood, some fantastic defending, some great blocks, bodies on the line and the keeper made some good saves.”

Sevenoaks will test themselves over the next couple of weeks as they play Ashford Town on Tuesday evening before hosting East Grinstead Town on Bank Holiday Monday, both in the league, then the FA Cup return to Greatness Park on Saturday 2nd September when they will play Isthmian Premier side Whitehawk
