Sevenoaks town are on the up after win against heath

Sevenoaks Town returned to winning ways at the start of December with a comfortable 3-1 Pitching In Isthmian League South East victory over Haywards Heath.

One point and no goals had been a poor return from the previous three games but they saw off poor travellers Heath extending their winless away run to six matches.

Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing Man of the Match Fumnaya Shomotun scored twice with Freddie Parker getting the other as Oaks won in some style. Oaks carved out several good chances before two goals in three minutes just after the half hour gave them a deserved lead.

Haywards Heath goalkeeper Billy Collings kept things scoreless in a lively opening. He tipped a Shotomun effort against the bar, saved from Ben Cheklit and tipped a Parker strike onto the post.

Shomotun put Oaks in front with a low finish from the edge of the box, before Parker doubled the lead soon afterwards, following impressive build-up play by Josh Bohul.

Haywards Heath responded – Lucas Franzen-Jones firing home seven minutes after the restart.

But Shomotun added the third midway through the second half, leaving a number of defenders in his wake, before shooting home.

Collings then denied Parker his second of the game in stoppage-time. New signing David Kawa made his first start as a late substitute.
