On Saturday 17th June, Sevenoaks SC hosted their Maritime Trophy gala on one of the hottest days of the year. Six teams of young swimmers competed at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre with much noise and excitement from all the teams.
The Sevenoaks relay teams in all age groups took the majority of the first and second places and in the individual events, many first and second places were achieved with some very close finishes.
These young swimmers showed excellence in the quality of their swimming, especially those who were competing in their very first gala event. A justifiable satisfaction also from the many personal best times achieved by many of the swimmers.
As always, the noisy final squadron event brought the evening to a close with a tightly fought race and dead heat between Sevenoaks and Beacon SC in 1st place. A jubilant Sevenoaks team were announced the overall winners with 222 points.
