In tune with the last 16 round of matches at Euro 2020, the Savills Sevenoaks Smash competition completed their group stages this week [with two exceptions], so we thought you’d enjoy a breakdown on all the groups and who is playing who in the last 16 round of matches in both the Cup and the Plate.
The Savills Sevenoaks Smash has replaced the long standing Clark Trophy competition for the Sevenoaks District Area. Traditionally a 15 over format, the competition was revamped to the new Hundred Ball format.

Group 1
Tunbridge Wells Royals took top spot over Tonbridge Exiles in second place to both progress to the last 16 of the Cup, whilst Penshurst Park and Bidborough Badgers will compete in the Plate.
Group 2
Lads & Broomsticks, otherwise known as Leeds & Broomfield, completed their group campaign on full points putting Linton Park Stags in second place. Meopham Scorpions and Offham Outlaws will play in the Plate.
Group 3
Sidcup Squirrels were simply too good for their opponents in all three group matches, finishing on maximum points. Orpington Buffs secured second place and their spot in the Cup with a winning run rate difference over Willow Smashers and Halstead Hedgehunters who go into the Plate.
Group 4
Wins for Hesketh Heat and Farningham Knights were enough to place both teams in the next round of the Cup, whilst New Ash Green Knight Riders and Darenth Valiants (Shoreham & Otford) take their places in the Plate.
Group 5
A win for Sevenoaks Rugby Sixers in their last match saw them through to the last 16 of the Cup and join table toppers Kemsing Cobras. Their was a rumour going around that this wasn’t the result the Sixers wanted though, as playing in the Plate may have been a better option for them. That option however, goes to Sevenoaks Orbs and Sevenoaks Vine Old Oaks.
Group 6
Holmesdale Stallions pushed their home advantage by winnings all three group matches and progress to the Cup last 16. Fawkham Guzzlers will join them should they not lose heavily to St Michaels Scorchers next Tuesday (June 29) who already find themselves in the Plate. Cudham Crushers are all set for the Plate too depending on that result.
Group 7
Group 7 is all but decided for the Cup as Oaks Society Sixers and Sevenoaks Vine Jazzers both progress as winners and runners up respectively. The Prep Pirates face Savills Smashers next Thursday (July 1) to decide their line up in the last 16 of the Plate.
Group 8
Plaxtol Pirates go through to the Cup as group winners and are joined by Solefields Slumberers who take second place with a run rate difference over third placed Ide Hill Hurricanes. Westerham Wolfes take their place in the Plate after two losses in the group.
The last 16
Therefore the majority of the last 16 matches have been decided and will be competed on the evenings of July 7th and 8th starting at 5.45pm. A few choice picks from the Cup ties are Holmesdale Stallions entertaining Sevenoaks Rugby Sixers, Tunbridge Wells Royals versus Linton Park Stags and Sevenoaks Vine Jazzers hosting Plaxtol Pirates.
