Sevenoaks sides have lift off but Tunbridge Wells are still grounded

Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club and Holmesdale have both secured their first wins of the season in the last two weeks, giving them the perfect platform to make a tw0-pronged attack on the early Championship leaders Broadstairs and The Mote.

The Vine overcame a strong Leeds & Broomfield side away on Saturday, reaching 303/5 to win by five wickets, with Bradley Hope hitting a wonderful 140 not out. This came a week after they beat Dartford by 18 runs at home.

Meanwhile Holmesdale travelled to Beckenham and bowled them out for 129. Callum Gallagher got four wickets for just 24 runs, and Will Harby hit 91 runs off 93 balls for a strike rate of 97.85.

Elsewhere Tunbridge Wells succumbed to their third loss in as many games, this time losing out to Bickley Park by three wickets. Matt Barker being the top pick from the week with four wickets for 16 runs. They travel to top of the table Lordswood this week with hope of a famous victory.

Linden Park are also yet to secure maximum points so far this campaign with a 122 run loss at home to Broadstairs on Saturday afternoon. Sadiq Hassan and Ben Erxleben both recording 38 runs apiece.
