Sevenoaks Town maintain impressive cup run

A perfect shoot-out performance clinched Sevenoaks Town’s place in the Third Qualifying Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy – and a trip to Lewes next month.

Ryan Gondoh, Dami Olorunnisomo, Kyle De Silva, Daniel Hector and acting captain Bentley Graham were all successful from 12 yards, with Hertford defender Ben Weyman the only one to miss, seeing his effort hit a post.

Oaks were twice behind in the game against their Southern League Central Division hosts in a very entertaining contest.

Graham led the side in place of suspended skipper Corey Holder with new signing Lexus Beeden making his debut following his arrival from Herne Bay, having featured for the Oaks in pre-season.

Pacy winger Tami Ogunnowa put the visitors in front after 16 minutes, Omari Hibbert levelling things up close to the interval, thanks to Kyle De Silva’s assist, having been denied seconds earlier.

Jesse Lassen restored Hertford’s lead only four minutes after the break, before Oaks boss Harry Hudson  immediately making a triple change including top scorer Ryan Gondoh.

He was soon involved in the action before making it 2-2 17 minutes from time, with a powerful left foot finish following Yahaya Bamba’s pass.

Bamba threatened again rounding keeper Ronnie Sandford only for Hertford to clear.

Both sides had chances to win it at the end, Bamba seeing his fierce effort tipped over the bar in stoppage-time.

Karn Miller-Neave was named Man of the Match sponsored by this magazine.

Sevenoaks Town: Tyler McCarthy, Dami Olorunnisomo, Karn Miller-Neave, Bentley Graham, Matthew Weaire, Lexus Beeden, Kyle De Silva, Jordy Ndozid (Emmanuel Mensah 52 minutes), Omari Hibbert (52 minutes), Bradley Wilson (Daniel Hector 52 minutes), Yahaya Bamba.
