Sevenoaks 7 returns for 30th edition

By kind permission of Knole Estates, the 30th edition of the Sevenoaks 7 race will take place on Sunday 7th July 2024, starting at 09:00. The race is run over seven miles (just over 11km) on grass and paths through the stunning hills and scenery of Knole Park.

Race headquarters is at Sevenoaks Rugby Club where changing rooms, showers and refreshments are available. There is also a 3.5k Junior race for nine to 15 year-olds on undulating paths within the park.

The Sevenoaks 7 was first held in 1993 as a replacement for the Sevenoaks Half Marathon. This moved the race from the busy Sevenoaks roads to the tranquillity of Knole Park and quickly established the Sevenoaks 7 as one of the country’s finest and most challenging off-road races, popular with club and unaffiliated runners alike.

The main race starts with a steady ascent of Broad Walk before heading down The Gallops, then alongside Knole House, then onwards to Chestnut Walk.

The half-way point is reached near the top of Chestnut Walk before a second descent of The Gallops, another pass by the house and the climb back up The Gallops before a spectacular final straight back down Broad Walk to the finish.

The event is organised by Sevenoaks Athletics Club and entries for runners of all standards are now open at bit.ly/7oaks7 or by scanning the QR code to the right, including for the junior race which is free to enter.
