Sevenoaks 2s are Kent Champions!

Sevenoaks Rugby Club’s 2nd XV were crowned league champions after beating Dartford Valley at home at the start of April, and amazingly, the 2nd XV are now promoted to the same league that their 1st XV started in 10 years ago!

It is no mean feat to win 19 of your 22 league fixtures in rugby, and to do this in the Counties 2 Kent division as well, means even more to the club that established a senior section under the ‘One Club’ ethos just some six years ago.

Sevenoaks will now start the 2024/25 season in the Counties 1 Kent division and will play the 1st XV of Beccehmian, Bromley, Crowborough, Dover and near neighbours Cranbrook, who just survived a fraught relegation battle by three points.

National League 2 East
Both Tonbridge Juddians and Sevenoaks will go head-to-head once again as they made sure of their place for another season in the National League 2 East.
Survival is a strong word, but at one point this year, Sevenoaks were struggling towards the bottom of the division, however notable wins in the last few weeks of the season secured they path for another season at national level. Juddians by contrast really excelled themselves in the second part of the year, putting together string of fantastic results which will see them finish in a wonderful fourth or fifth place.

Regional 1 South Central
Tunbridge Wells Rugby Club have enjoyed many a successful Saturday at St. Mark’s in 2023/24 that will see them stay in the Regional 1 South Central for another season.
However, the club will decide this summer if they are to remain at their current home of St. Mark’s or look for a new venue as they expand the club for the Tunbridge Wells community.

Kent B Rural
Meanwhile, Tunbridge Wells’ 3rd XV secured the title in the Kent B Rural league having lost just three games all season. They are promoted alongside local rivals Edenbridge RFC, although Leigh RFC were not so fortunate and are relegated to the Kent C Rural.
