Mighty Oaks are table topping Champions!

Sevenoaks Rugby Club made history on St. Georges Day when they topped the England Rugby London & SE Premier Division after winning their final game against Hertford RFC 37-17. The result, and their 16th win in a row, means that Sevenoaks are crowned champions and will start next season at the RFU’s National Two level, the highest position in the club’s 97 year history. On a blustery St. Georges Day, an estimated 800 people took to Knole Paddock to help celebrate with the players and staff on their glorious achievement.

Director of Rugby and Head Coach, Adam Bowman, said after the win against Hertford: “It was nice to get the job done! Hertford are a really good team, and we managed the first half really well today. It’s been a great day, with so many people in a packed paddock, there’s lot’s of old faces too.”

He added: “There’s a lot of people across the whole rugby club who have contributed towards this, it’s a big club effort. Personally I’m incredibly proud of everyone!”

With huge thanks to local photographer Dave Purday, there is a special Champions 2022 poster pullout in the May issue of Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing magazine. Enjoy!
