Three weeks after being crowned the 2017 Super One British Champion, Sevenoaks District resident Danny Keirle, who has been racing karts since he was 10 years old, has now added the 2017 Super One World Championship to his list.
20-year-old Danny took on 91 of the worlds best kart drivers and absolutely dominated the event winning four out of five heats before leading the 22 lap Grand Final from start to finish.
The event was held over five days at the PF International circuit in Grantham, Lincolnshire, the first time the CIK/FIA sanctioned event has been held in the UK, and with the best equipment possible supplied by the Chiesa Corse team and engines from the IAME (Parilla) factory, Danny stamped his authority on the event right from the start. In fact in heat four he caught and passed the current world champion Pedro Hildebrand (Portugal) such was the Kentish drivers speed.
The next event for Danny is the IAME X30 World Cup to be raced at the fabled Le Mans Circuit in France this October, where he will be using the same Zanardi Karts that carried him to victory in the UK.
Danny has a number of people on his team who he thanked: “Ross and Scott from Jade Karts of Edge Hill for their mechanical know how; and to Jade Engines for the speed to carry me to this fabulous result; and also to the legendary Terry Fullerton, who has won one World and eight British championships, for his valuable input in my development and training“.
Chiesa Corse team owner, Dino Chiesa has in the past looked after the early careers of many internationally known drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Lance Stroll and current hot property in motor racing Nyck De Vries.
