HomeGOLFIggy’s Fund charity golf day

Iggy’s Fund charity golf day

On a very wet and windy Friday 13th October the second official Iggy Golf Day took place at Westerham Golf Club, after the formation of the charity Iggy’s Fund.

The history of the golf day dates back 21 years when Alan Igglesden, his brother Kevin and a few family friends decided to play a round of golf and donate the proceeds to support the work of Geoff Pilkington, the doctor and avid cricket fan who undertook Alan’s original biopsy, with what was then the UK Brain Tumour Society.

Fast forward to this year, 23 teams in attendance including ex-Kent Captain and Sky Sports presenter Dave Fulton, Kent Head Coach Matt Walker, ex-players Darren Stevens, Richard Ellison, John Shepherd, Julian Thompson, Charlie Hartley and Neil Taylor, and former Crystal Palace FC player John Salako.

Over 120 guests sat down to enjoy a three-course dinner and fun filled charity auction. It is with the unwavering support and encouragement of these and so many other friends of Alan’s and now the family that have allowed the day to grow from strength to strength.

If you would you like to support the charity, get involved, find out more about what they do, or just want to keep up to date with their fundraising and events, then you can visit their website at iggysfund.com.

Alternatively, if you are organising a fundraising event and need a charity to support, then they’d love to hear from you. Contact Kevin Igglesden at kevin.iggysfund@gmail.com.
