The WBBL duo of Cat Carr and Ta’Yani Clark have both committed to Sevenoaks Suns for another season after back-to-back Championship wins.
The duo has been instrumental in their team’s success over the last three years, including their unprecedented unbeaten league campaign in 2018-19, and they are hoping to make another big impact, joining forces once again as they look to secure Suns’ 3rd straight league championship and 4th straight playoff title.
Carr will be starting her sixth season for Suns and the all-round team player will be gunning for another trophy in 2020. The 6’0” forward hit an average 14.7 points per game last term, with 5.8 assists and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Carr said: “I’m really excited about this upcoming year with the Suns, I feel great about the chemistry and the potential it still has to grow. Sevenoaks has grown as a club so much since I first joined, so I’m just glad I get to be a part of it for another year. From season to season our goals and expectations never change, we want to challenge ourselves, work hard and always stick together.”
Clark added: “Not only are Sevenoaks a great club, but we’re family too, winning helps, but we’ve built a culture that goes beyond that. Each year has presented a new challenge and I expect this one won’t be any different, but it’s why we play the game we love so much. Our goal is to bring the best out of each other every practice and game”.
The 5’8″ guard topped the charts with an average three steals per games last year and she also recorded 6.5 defensive rebounds, 14.7 points and 5.3 assists per game for the season.
Head coach, Len Busch commented on the duo: “It’s great to have Cat and Ta’Yani around for another season. They are the core of what we’ve built with our WBBL franchise. Both continually work to improve on and off the court. That desire to get better spreads easily to the rest of the team which makes my job that much easier”.
