Hertford bookend Sevenoaks Rugby Club’s fixtures for the new season

Rugby is back in September after the longest break the sport has known in recent times, and no one is looking forward to the new season more than the team at Sevenoaks Rugby Club. The club hasn’t played competitive rugby since March 7th, 2020 when they beat Dorking 24-22 at home, so you can see why they might be excited to get back to it.

Sevenoaks will kick off their 2021/22 season in the England Rugby London & SE Premier Division with an away fixture at Hertford on Saturday 4th September and will finish their campaign with the same opponents visiting The Paddock on Saturday 23rd April.

Their first home match will be versus local rivals Westcombe Park, who have been promoted, on Saturday 11th September where it is anticipated a large crowd will be watching their first glimpse of rugby in no less than 18 months.

How the London & SE Premier Division will line up before it all starts on September 4th.

Changes to the league constitution after the 2020 season sees a number of new clubs entered which include Maidenhead, North Walsham, Sutton & Epsom, Westcombe Park and Wimbledon. The latter two will be familiar foes after the years spent together in the London 1 South division.

Michael commented: “On Sunday 1st August, I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising money for the RFU Inured Players Foundation, a fantastic rugby charity who support players who sustain catastrophic injuries whilst playing. This will be my first running event and it will certainly be a challenge due to a lack of training in recent weeks!!

“I’d be hugely grateful to anyone who can spare some money to sponsor me and support such a worthwhile cause.”
