Over the weekend HC Knole Park’s U16 Boys and U14 and U16 Girls competed in the Y1 Regional Championships. The U14 and U16 Girls where winners and runners-up respectively and qualify for the Finals weekend. The U16 Boys finished a very commendable 5th.
In the U14 Girls competition the team won all four matches against Surbiton, Wimbledon, Raw Skills Academy and Taunton Vale. Evie Smith top scored with 15 goals and Biba Mills scored 13. The girls were in sublime form throughout the competition producing some scintillating hockey, scoring a number of outstanding team goals.
In the U16 Girls competition the team won three and lost one against Surbiton, Cheltenham, Sevenoaks and the Hockey Mentors Project. Summer Knight-Thompson top scored with five goals, Josefina Hippe, Bella Muñoz, Lottie Bingham and Charlotte Watkins were also amongst the goals. The girls were slow to start the tournament, but by the end were at their best once again. Some of the passing hockey and team play was truly outstanding.
In the U16 Boys competition the boys played Surbiton, Hampstead and Westminster, West of England and Old Georgians. The team competed well in each match and despite three defeats and a draw they learnt a lot and improved throughout. Isaac Dale (5) and Moritz Hippe (2) top scored for the team.
Both the U14 and U16 Girls teams progress to the Y1 National Finals to compete to be crowned champions on Sunday 28th August.
