Freddie lights up the town on fireworks night

Freddie Parker is back among the goals and that’s great news for Sevenoaks Town.

The striker who opened his league account in the 4-2 win at Ramsgate a week earlier, followed up with a brace as Oaks saw off in-form Lancing to make it 10 points from the last 12.

It was only their second Pitching In Isthmian League South East home win of the season.

Parker won the Sevenoaks Sports and Wellbeing MOM ahead of some other excellent performances.

New signing Fumnaya Shotomun capped another impressive display with Oaks’ third goal, his second in two games while Jordy Ndozid slotted in well at right back – heading off the line under his own bar in the second half.

Parker was also denied a hat-trick, seeing another effort ruled out for a foul by skipper Bradley Wilson in the build-up.

Lancing had won their previous three matches and went close several times Tyrone Madhani twice missed out in the first half, Darius Goldsmith struck the bar with a free-kick in the second, and Marcus Allen saw his close-range effort produced a second clearance off the line late on.

Parker fired Oaks in front thumping home a 55th minute penalty, after Josh Bohul was brought down in the box, and doubled things 10 minutes later, punishing a defensive slip between defender Allen and keeper Alieu Secka.

Top scorer Ryan Gondoh, back after injury, fellow-substitute Ben Cheklit and Shomotun, all created several more chances before the latter, who netted in midweek on his home debut in the 1-1 draw against Burgess Hill, wrapped things up with the third on 90 minutes.

Gondoh set it up, Shomotun scoring with a  fine finish – the ball bursting through the hands of the diving Secka,  left punching the turf in frustration.

Sevenoaks Town: Tyler McCarthy, Jordy Ndozid, Karn Miler-Neave, Will Thorne, Matthew Weaire, Lexus Beeden, Fumnaya Shomotun, Joe Bingham (Bentley Graham 75 mins), Freddie Parker, Bradley Wilson (Ryan Gondoh 71 mins), Josh Bohul (Ben Checklit (62 mins).
