Sevenoaks Town and Corinthian were both in the hat for the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round draw on Monday 5th September.
Two goals from Man of the Match Ryan Gondoh secured Sevenoaks Town’s progress to the next round of the FA Cup after they defeated Isthmian League Premier Division side Kingstonian on Saturday afternoon at Greatness Park. Despite the referee adding an extraordinary additional 10 minutes at the end of the second half, Sevenoaks held on to make it through to the Second Qualifying round of this prestigious cup.
Sevenoaks’ cup dream is very much alive and they have been drawn away to Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side Phoenix Sports.
Corinthian have yet to cement their place in the next round though, as they host the Metropolitan Police on Tuesday 6th September in a replay after drawing 2-2 in Saturday’s match. Oscar Housego equalised for Corinthian on the stroke of half time, before the home side went ahead again in the second half. James Allen scored the second equaliser in the 86th minute to send the away fans into hysterics. The replay kicks off at 7.45pm at Gay Dawn Farm, DA3 8LY.
Tickets are available on the gate: Adults-£9 and Concessions-£5. There is also food and drink available at the ground from 6.15pm.
Should Corinthian triumph in their replay then their reward is a home fixture against Burgess Hill Town.
The FA Cup Second Qualifying Round ties will be played on Saturday 17th September, and therefore the scheduled Isthmian League fixture between our two sides will now be rearranged to a new date.
