Cross Country is a hit for schools

More than 400 children turned out for the Sevenoaks Primary School District Cross Country Championships at Radnor House in Sundridge on October 18th.

Students from Amherst, Sundridge & Brasted, Anthony Roper, St. Thomas’, Chevening, Kemsing, Otford, Lady Boswells, Sevenoaks, St. Lawrence, Shoreham, Churchill, St. Johns, Leigh and Halstead all took part in the event.

The competitors took part in a total of four races split as follows: 800m for year three/four boys, 800m for year three/four girls, 1600m for year five/six boys and 1600m for year five/six girls.
The event, organised by Clare Strange with the help of Edward Oatley MBE of the Sevenoaks Sports Association, was a fantastic achievement for Primary School sport in the area and was one of a number of events that take place throughout the year in the district.

All competitors and bystanders seemed to thoroughly enjoy the afternoon, despite it being a little damp, muddy and grey.
