Aquaoaks artistic swimmer selected for GB National Youth Development Squad

Evelyn Fornasier, who trains with local artistic swimming club Aquaoaks and is a student at Walthamstow Hall School who have be extremely supportive, was delighted to receive an invitation to join the GB National Youth Development Squad.

The invitation follows Evelyn’s impressive swims at the National Age Group Championships in March, where she placed in the top three athletes for 12 and under nationally, in both the figure and solo competition.

Aquaoaks’ Head Coach, Maisie Wright, said: “We are incredibly proud of Evelyn. She has worked extremely hard to get here and has shown so much resilience over the past year.

I’m confident that this is just the beginning of a very successful synchro journey for her.”

The GB National Youth Development Squad is made up of a small group of athletes that have shown great potential for the future. Joining the squad is a big commitment for Evelyn who, at just twelve years old, will now spend her school holidays training at the Artistic Swimming High Performance Centre in Bristol, for up to eight hours a day.

Alongside this Evelyn continues to train daily with her Sevenoaks based club, Aquaoaks, and the South East Regional Squad as she prepares for upcoming competitions this season.
