Members and guests who turned out to support players competing in the Kemsing LTC club finals day were rewarded with a day of entertaining tennis.
In the first match on court during the morning session, Charlie Parselle retained the Men’s Single title with a convincing 6-0 6-0 win over Andy Bourne. On the court next door Matteo Vanzi defeated Paul Louden 6-0 6-3 in the Vets Men’s Singles.
In the Mixed Doubles, a new team of Annelize Holthausen and Glen Nunes were victorious over Jane Ladbury and Matt Bance 6-3 6-3.
Straight back court on after winning the Vets Men’s Singles, Matteo Vanzi was in action again in the Men’s Singles Plate where he added to his winning streak by defeating Dan Redshaw 6-1 6-2.
In the Men’s Doubles, where three of the players were competing in their second matches of the day, club coach Steve Seffens and Charlie Parselle took on Andy Bourne and Matt Bance. Seffens and Parselle came out on top winning 6-4 6-1.

While spectators enjoyed a BBQ lunch, there was a repeat of last year’s Ladies final between Camilla Hurst and Pip Stalberg. They produced a thrilling match which went to an exciting Championship tie-break finish. Hurst emerged as the victor winning 6-3 5-7 10-8.
Not long after this epic singles match Hurst and Stalberg faced each other again in the Ladies doubles. This time Stalberg, playing with Caroline Pye, proved too good against Hurst and the impressive junior player Lili Day, and they lifted the cup with a 6-3 6-3 score.
In his second match Paul Louden emerged as the champion in a very close Super Vets Men’s singles final against Howard Cloke winning 7-5, 6-7 and 10-8 in the second Championship tie break of the afternoon.
In the Men’s Ultra Vets (over 65’s) doubles final Richard Hart and Richard Miles won 6-1, 6-3 against David Winstanley and Roger Ellis.
There was an exciting finish to the day with Paul Louden, playing in his third match, partnering Matt Day to a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the Men’s Vets Doubles against John Marks and Toby Uffindell-Philips.
