Welcome to spring! No wait, winter! Hang on, spring is back again! With all this adverse weather we think it’s time we all took holiday! Well not being ones to disappoint, we have brought you a Skiing special issue this month, as Sevenoaks’ very own Frank Baldwin reports from Chamonix and the guys at The Better Body Group get us all limbed up ready to attack the slopes in perfect condition.
We report on the Sennocke Centre as they open their doors, and facilities, as youngsters take part in their Sports Camps, plus we attend their inaugural Sevenoaks Sports Coaches Forum. Lizzy Yarnold gets the go-ahead for another bus parade after her heroics in PyeongChang make her the first Briton to retain a Winter Olympic title. We’re hoping to join Lizzy to bring you a first-hand experience of the day when she visits the town in April.
Derek Hodge takes a look back at the district’s football cup finals, as we prepare for the end of season showcases to be held at the Bourne Stadium. Plus Cricket is back and your local clubs have got a lot in store for you this summer, you really won’t want to miss it!
As Sport Relief returns on March 17th, we are asking if you or your school are planning on getting active for the occasion? We would love to hear what you are doing and we will publish the best bits in our April issue. Simply get in contact with us via email at info@sevenoakssports.co.uk and remember to take a good high quality photo of the occasion too.
And finally, have you ever wanted to get to grips with the toughest obstacle course in the country? If so, you need to enter our competition to win an entry to this year’s Spartan Race held at the St Clere Estate in Kemsing on April 8th. Simply go to our Facebook or Twitter page and follow the instructions. All winners will be announced in next month’s issue.
