Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing’s October issue is out this weekend!

Welcome to October’s issue of Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing magazine. We are so pleased to be able to bring you more consecutive months of sport and wellbeing content, which in 2020 was something we missed sorely.

As you will see on our front cover, Rugby is back and Sevenoaks 1st XV have just completed a three match winning streak, whilst Swanley RFC grabbed their first win in the Kent 2 – to much well deserved applause.

Sevenoaks Swimming Club also have a lot to tell you this month from Mental Health & Wellbeing award winning coach Keiron Piper, through to young Gabriela Trigueirinho who used her swimming talent to raise money for the Alice’s Arc charity by swimming half a mile in the Serpentine.

Tom Bosworth is taking a well earned break this month after his exploits in Japan at the Olympics, so instead we thought we’d bring you former F1 Champion Jenson Button on a mountain top instead, courtesy of our friend Frank Baldwin over at Skier & Snowboarder magazine. Thanks Frank.

Women’s football takes a step in the right direction as Ide Hill & Sundridge win their first match since forming in July of this year, whilst Sevenoaks Town Women’s record three wins in their opening four matches.

Our regular contributors are here once again and the Better Body Group’s Hannah Owen discusses how to adapt your gym training around your menstrual cycle, Lorna Sharp and West Kent Mind open the door to better mental health services on World Mental Health Day and Working with Parents in Sport take a look at sport recovery. Plus we have an open letter from Nick Dunn, the Kent FA’s Referee Development Officer in which he talks about the severe need to retain match officials.

You can view an online issue of the magazine here!

See you in November! Stay safe.

Kind regards,

Publishing Editor, Sevenoaks Sport & Wellbeing
