Alice Moffatt has been training in the ART coaching program at Chipstead Place Lawn Tennis Club in Sevenoaks, her local village club, since the age of six.
Alice is now currently ranked 4th in the County for her age group (14 & Under) after a busy run of tournaments through the Summer.
As well as becoming County champion in the recent Kent County Closed Championships for the U14 Girls singles, U14 Girls Doubles with her partner Anisha Krishnan, and U18 Mixed doubles with her partner Tyee Kapilasena, Alice also had the amazing experience of competing in the National Finals held on the grass courts at Wimbledon in August.
This was a result of winning her club and County draw in the ‘Play Your Way to Wimbledon’ initiative. Alice reached the last 16 in the National Finals in a field of 48 other County Winners from around the country. Alice is incredibly passionate about tennis, and has a superb attitude to her training and preparation.
The ART tennis coaching program is run by Adam Reavely, an LTA Level 4 Senior Performance Coach with 20 years of full-time coaching experience in the local area. He started playing at the age of seven and was a former Kent County junior.
Adam set up the coaching program 12 years ago at Chipstead Place Lawn Tennis Club., where they run a full schedule of junior and adult classes, holiday camps, and matchplay’s, and see approximately 170 players a week.
They pride themselves on building a community around the club and encourage players of all levels into competition to build a long lasting pass for the game.
They do this by training and selecting junior teams to represent their local schools and their club in competitions throughout the year. They also run regular internal matchplay’s, an annual junior club tournament, and encourage players into LTA sanctioned external competitions when they feel ready. Many of their players also move into being assistant coaches within the coaching program and some have even moved into a fulltime career of tennis coaching.
